The Alpine Team
$850
Open to athletes age 7 to 18 who meet the basic ability requirements (must be able to load/unload the chairlift independently, must be able to link turns on all terrain at Wisp at a speed comparable to the rest of the age group, and additional requirements may apply for age 12+).
Provides training in a structured group setting that blends all mountain skiing, drill work, USSS SkillsQuest activities, and slalom and giant slalom training. Members of the Alpine Team enjoy training at Wisp Resort starting in December and running through early-March (weather permitting), plus they receive coaching at local (MD/PA) USSS events. Athletes who compete in USSS events may qualify for, and receive coaching at, PA State Championships.
Note: Alpine team members may be eligible for additional training and/or competition opportunities (i.e. PARA sponsored speed camps, USSS Eastern Region Championships, etc.), but coaching at those events is not covered by the Alpine Team membership fee.
The Race Ready Adult Team
$75
A fun oriented and “apres minded” program for experienced skiers and snowboarders (age 18 and up). The Race Ready Adult Team is for the local legends and parents of DCWST members who want to jump in and run slalom and giant slalom gates throughout the season.
Members of the Race Ready Adult Team enjoy weeknight training on at Wisp Resort from early January through early-March (weather permitting).
The goal of this team is preparation for non-USSS races such as the MD Governor's Cup, the WV Governor’s Cup and Nastar races hosted at ski areas around the country.
The Race Ready Adult Team is a great option for DCWST parents who want to "get in on the action" throughout the season in preparation to compete in the annual MD Governor's Cup hosted by DCWST at the end of the season.
