Registration Instructions

INTRODUCTION

Registration for all DCWST members requires two steps: (1) registering as a member of U.S. Ski and Snowboard (USSS) via the USSS website; and (2) registering as a member of the DCWST through via TeamSnap.

An optional third step may also be appropriate for some members joining the Snowboard Team.

Each of these steps is explained in detail below, with links provided to the necessary external website where appropriate.

STEP 1:  USSS Registration

DCWST is a club team affiliated with the Pennsylvania Alpine Racing Association (PARA) which is a division of the national organization U.S. Ski and Snowboard (USSS).  These affiliations allow the team to purchase liability insurance through USSS under its club program.  One of the requirements of the insurance is that all members of each club team must join USSS.  USSS membership also allows alpine ski racers to compete in USSS and PARA events.

USSS registration for new and returning members is accomplished through USSS's online registration system at http://usskiandsnowboard.org/membership.  Please complete all required fields, and read closely all release and acknowledgement information.

While the fields are for the most part self-explanatory, members should note the following key items:

(a) You MUST choose "Pennsylvania" as your state since DCWST is affiliated with PARA.   DO NOT choose Maryland as that will not show our team/club as a option in the next step.

(b) When choosing your club select "Deep Creek Winter Sports Team". If it is not showing revisit step (a).

(c)  When choosing your sport/membership type you MUST choose "Alpine Competitor" if you are a youth skier under 19 years of age, you MUST choose "Snowboard - General"  if you are a snowboarder, or you MUST choose "Alpine Master w/Requirements" if you are skier 19 years of age or older.

Upon completion of your USSS registration be sure to save a copy of each athlete's current USSS card (or a screenshot of each athlete's current membership information) as you will need to upload it when completing the DCWST registration.

STEP 2:  DCWST Registration

DCWST registration for new and returning members is accomplished through our online registration system hosted by TeamSnap.

For each member be sure to complete all required fields and read closely all release and acknowledgement information.

While the fields are for the most part self-explanatory, members should note the following key items:

(a) The Primary Medical Insurance Card for each athlete needs to be uploaded (.JPEG, .GIF, .PNG image files and .pdfs are acceptable formats).

(b) You must upload each athlete's current USSS card OR a screenshot of each athlete's current membership information (.JPEG, .GIF, .PNG image files and .pdfs are acceptable formats).

NOTE - If you did not save the USSS membership card/membership information during Step 1, use the USSS Member Lookup to obtain an uploadable screenshot of the membership details - including the name, member #, birth year, and the type of membership - for each athlete.

Discounts:

  • Multi-Member Discount - DCWST is pleased to offer a multiple child discount of $100 per additional member registered (i.e. $100 off each additional child registered after the first/full price membership). These discounts will be issued at checkout OR as a refund after all of your memberships are processed by the DCWST.
  • Coach's Child Discount - DCWST is pleased to offer free membership to athletes who are children of members of the coaching staff. Coaches must contact the DCWST Snowsports Director to obtain the necessary discount code to be used during registration. This code will provide a 100% discount on the membership fees.

Scholarship Applicants:

Fill out the application form found at https://www.dcwst.org/join/ then complete your registration as usual. The DCWST Scholarship Committee will contact you once the scholarships have been awarded and will provide you with instructions on how to have your membership fees refunded. If you need assistance, financial or otherwise, with the registration process please email scholarships ASAP.

Installment Option:

When making your payment, please note that you have the option of paying in full at the time of registration or paying in two installments.  If you choose the installment option, you will be charged a portion of your fees at the time of registration; the balance will be due December 1.

Processing Fees:

There will be a 3.5% processing fee added at the time of checkout. These fees are non-refundable.

STEP 3 (optional):  USASA Registration

While USSS membership is required for all DCWST members, USSS membership does not provide competition opportunities for snowboarders; these athletes compete in events organized by USASA.  As such, all snowboarders who wish to compete in USASA events must join USASA (in addition to USSS).

If you have not previously registered with USASA, you may obtain a one-day (one event) membership for free.  Subsequently, one-day (one event) memberships are available from USASA for a daily fee.  A full season membership is also available online.  For further details and registration instructions, please visit USASA's online registration system, which is accessible at https://usasa.org/members/login.  Please note that you should register for the Appalachian Series.
